An excellent opportunity to join an international main contractor as a Design Manager (E&M). You will oversee internal and external design consultant teams and manage all the processes in relation to producing design information primarily for procurement of works packages and the effective construction of the works both on and off site.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the design process using commercial, contractual, programme/time awareness and technical expertise;
- Oversee and control the development of design in accordance with the company procedures and specific requirements stipulated in the contract administration;
- Ensure the design process is complied with legislations, standards and code of practice where appropriate;
- Monitor and ensure the design information is of the right quality and with project timescales;
- Strive to eliminate health and safety risks in the design and financial risks during construction and post-construction performance of the project.
Requirements:
- Degree in Building Studies, Construction Management, Engineering or relevant disciplines;
- Member of HKIE / ICE or other recognised professional bodies is highly preferred;
- At least 10 years’ relevant experience with practical site based experience is required;
- Solid knowledge of design software and BIM is desired;
- Excellent motivational and leadership skill;
- Strong communication skill and able to work independently;
- Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
